1. Labyrinth Park
(Parc del Laberint d’Horta)
One of the most beautiful and underrated locations in Barcelona for a
family photoshoot is Labyrinth Park.
This location is perfect for
families with kids, as the park itself has a fun labyrinth where
children can play hide-and-seek and run around, making the photoshoot
enjoyable for them.
Additionally, the park is full of both architectural and
natural beauty, with fewer crowds, so you’ll have the space to create
stunning photos.
My tip: schedule your shoot closer to the evening for
the best light. Be sure to check the park’s opening hours before you go,
they can vary depending on the time of the year.
2. Poble Espanyol
(Spanish Village)
Another excellent location is Poble Espanyol, a unique spot where you
can experience all of Spain in one place.
While there is an entrance
fee, it’s worth it for the variety of backdrops available for your
family photos. The location features charming streets, cozy cafes,
beautiful arches, and quaint buildings, providing a lot of variety for
your photoshoot.
Plus, there are playgrounds where kids can have some
fun after the session, which motivates them to stay engaged. It’s a fun
and scenic spot that’s rarely overcrowded, making it ideal for families.
3. Ciutadella Park
(Parc de la Ciutadella)
Ciutadella Park is another fantastic choice for family photoshoots.
The
park’s gorgeous fountain ensemble provides a beautiful backdrop, and you won’t need
to move around much to get a range of great shots. Early morning is the
best time to have a photoshoot here, as the park is usually empty.
Besides the fountain, the nearby zoo and wide avenues make this location perfect for motivating children to participate in the shoot by promising a fun day after the photoshoot.
4. Castelldefels Beach
If you’re willing to venture just outside of Barcelona, Castelldefels
Beach is a perfect spot for family photos. This long, scenic beach is
ideal for capturing family photos, and it’s a hit with both kids and
adults.
For an even more private experience, try scheduling the photoshoot in the morning off the peak season (June to mid-September), when the beach is nearly empty, but the sunsets are stunning.
It’s the perfect place to relax, have fun, and showcase the family’s emotions and joy through candid, natural shots.
5. Sitges
Last but not least, Sitges is a beautiful location just outside of
Barcelona.
This historic town offers gorgeous Mediterranean backdrops
for family photos, whether you choose the old town’s narrow streets or
the scenic locations just outside the city.
Kids will love this place
too, with plenty of playgrounds and delicious ice cream shops to visit
after the photoshoot.
From September to April, the town is less crowded with tourists, making
it an excellent choice for capturing peaceful, picturesque moments.
